Super Junior Lee Teuk and Boom to replace Kang Ho-dong on "Star King"

Super Junior member Lee Teuk and TV personality Boom will co-host SBS entertainment show "Star King" for the time being due to co-host Kang Ho-dong's temporary retirement from the entertainment industry.

A press release by SBS on Thursday stated that producers of the show had considered a different host but decided on Lee Teuk since he has been a leading member of the regular cast of "Star King" for a long time and Boom has been an active figure on the show as well.

Accordingly, the two will serve as hosts to the popular Saturday show, a talent competition running since 2007, starting with the episodes that air on October 15.

All other programs that Kang hosts, including SBS' Tuesday talk show "Strong Heart," MBC's Wednesday talk show "The Guru Show" and KBS' "Two Nights and One Day," have had to seek resolutions or alternatives to Kang's retirement which came when public furor mounted over his failure to declare his income properly for he was slapped with back and penalty taxes.

Lee, 28, is the leader of his boy band which made its debut in 2005 with album "SuperJunior05" (TWINS)."

He has played several small screen roles as well as hosting variety and radio programs outside of his group activities.

Boom, whose real name is Lee Min-ho, made his debut a member of group Key in 1997 and later released his first single "Boom Up" as a hip-hop artist in 2006.

He has appeared in a number of entertainment programs and was recently discharged from the military.

Heechul shares a video interview about his military life

Super Junior‘s Kim Heechul recently sat down for a video interview about his experience with the Korean military thus far.
When asked about what kind of training he was receiving at the time, Heechul replied that he was learning how to quickly and safely move from one area to another, and how to move across bodies of water.
Before enlisting in the military, he had genuine concerns about how well he would adjust, especially since he underwent leg surgery fairly recently. He was also concerned about how he would get along with his fellow comrades, and how well he would communicate with his superiors. “It was definitely awkward in the beginning,” he said. “It was even weird just looking at my reflection in the mirror. But contrary to what I had thought, everyone is really friendly and the environment is nowhere near as hostile as I thought it would be. I don’t think my fans need to worry, I’m adjusting pretty well.”
Although my leg isn’t fully recovered, I don’t want people to think I’m slacking off because of that or that I’m taking it easy just because I’m a celebrity. I actually run a little faster and train a little harder. My superiors even tell me to take care of my health first, but I mean, I’m a soldier in training just like everybody else. And besides, there’s a clinic here that I can access if need be.”
The best part of military training? According to Heechul, it’s shooting a M-16 rifle. He bragged, “I think I shoot really well; I’m on point. I’ve been complimented by my superiors.”
Heechul also talked about how before he enlisted, he never had time to gaze at the stars. Now he’s able to look up to his heart’s content, and as he trains and works the night shift, he has the chance to converse freely with his fellow soldiers. “I completely respect all of our soldiers here. A lot of them are here to train for longer than I am,” he said.
Letters from our Super Junior fans are helping me get through the training period. It’s definitely different getting them here, as opposed to getting them comfortably at home,” he admitted.
Heechul once said he was a fan of Sohee from the Wonder Girls, and his thoughtful fans sent in stacks of her pictures to help him get through his training period. Additionally, SNSD‘s Sunny, Seohyun, and Taeyeon as well as f(x)‘s Sulli all sent in autographs, letters, and pictures to encourage and support him. “I was such a goofy oppa to them, always joking around. But they’re sweet to do this, and I realized I need to be better to these girls,” he mused.
In closing, he thanked his fans for their continued love and support and saluted like a true soldier. And with the approval of his superiors, he was permitted to form a heart with his hands to adorably tell his fans, “I love you“. ">

Though they’re only promoting with eight members, all 10 could be found in the video. It’s not just their vocal talents that got showcased in this video, but sharp dancing skills and trendy fashion as well.

Ryeowook reveals why ZE:A’s Hyungshik cried in Super Junior’s dorm

Feeling trapped and blocked off by a wall he felt he couldn’t overcome, ZE:A‘s Hyungshik found himself crying in the middle of Super Junior‘s dorm after he was given the warm hand of a senior who offered his help. That senior was none other Super Junior’s Ryeowook.
The two became close friends through their musical, “Temptation of the Wolves“, and it was only a matter of time before they developed a strong friendship. Eventually, their respective groups got closer as well, and one night, both groups gathered together for a late night dinner party.
Hyungshik recalled, “The name Super Junior just felt so big to me that even though I felt glad that I could get to know him, I was also cautious. Still, he approached me first and opened his heart, allowing for honest conversation to flow. I earned a lot of strength from that.”
Super Junior could relate to ZE:A in that they had both had a rough trainee life at a young age, and that they’re both comprised of a large number of members.
Ryeowook said, “We were alike in that we shared a lot of the same hardships.  As a senior who experienced those things a few years before him, I tried to listen to his worries and help him find a solution.  Hyungshik choked up then and cried.”
He continued, “Through our meeting, ZE:A helped us realize that we should never forget our roots, and I think the members of ZE:A also earned a lot of strength from us.  It was a meeting where honesty was exchanged, and the feeling remained with me long after the meeting was over.  I’m really thankful for the musical for creating such a fate.”
Hyungshik confessed, “I don’t have a cellphone yet, so I don’t have a close friend or senior celebrity around me.  It’s just really out of this world for me to have such an amazing hyung that I met through this musical.”
Ryeowook added, “Hyungshik is sometimes like my real brother, and oftentimes more mature than me.  I feel proud that I have an amazing dongseng like him and I hope that there will be an opportunity where I can sing with him aside from the musical.”
